Supporting Pregnancy with Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga is a great way to support and prepare your body through the demands of pregnancy. The right kind of movement can help prepare the body and mind for childbirth, encourage optimal fetal positioning, and help prevent some pregnancy related injuries such as diastasis recti and prolapse. At the same time, these practices therapeutically address aches and pains commonly experienced during pregnancy. Aside from the physical benefits of therapeutic movement, practicing mindfulness is a powerful way to ground yourself and connect with your baby!
In this workshop, you will learn a sequence of gentle movements specifically designed to stabilize and balance the hips, pelvic floor, and deep core. We will take a whole body approach to wellness and you will learn effective tips on how to keep your body healthy and strong as you move off the mat throughout the day. Expect a combination of strengthening and stabilizing through movement, breath work, and deep myofascial release using Yoga Tune Up Balls. You will come away with a sequence you can practice on your own daily throughout your pregnancy, as well as the knowledge and resources to keep yourself feeling strong and empowered.

This workshop is open to all levels of experience and all stages of pregnancy, as well as yoga teachers and fitness instructors interested in learning how to support pregnant women in their group classes.

Bring your yoga mat, a notebook, and something to write with - everything else will be provided!
