Andrew’s introduction to yoga came while studying physical theatre at Dell’Arte International in Northern California where he also received training in Alexander Technique, dance, acrobatics and clown. Yoga has not always come naturally.
Over the years, however, yoga became a bridge between physical and emotional well-being, not only managing his anxiety and depression, but a source for healing from the inside out.
Through yoga, he witnessed his physical, emotional and spiritual life transform. Everything he has searched for during his life, he found in the practice of yoga--acceptance, strength, calm, self-love, confidence, sharing, community, joy.
Upon the recommendation of his guru, he decided to pursue a teacher training in Rishikesh, India (Yoga Capital of the World) at Shivoham Yoga School (200 RYS), where he trained in traditional Hatha and Vinyasa styles. Believing yoga is a lifelong passion, he maintains a strong daily practice and continuous study.
A yoga class with Andrew explores the intersection of eastern discipline and western compassion through a prescriptive, challenging, expansive, creative and loving teaching style embracing of any one at any level.
